Greg Wertman

General Partner

Greg graduated from the USC Marshall School of Business with an emphasis on Finance & Advertising. Since then, he's accumulated over 15 years of business and corporate development experience growing early-stage technology and consumer product goods startups, and 10 years of venture experience.  Greg's recent focus has been around sourcing and leading Seed to Series B equity financing rounds ($50m+), guiding venture-backed companies while achieving first revenues, and growing top-line revenue from Fortune 500 enterprise customers. 

Greg's venture capital background includes ten years working as a venture scout, advisor, consultant, Venture Partner, SVP, General Partner, and Limited Partner to numerous venture and private equity funds and their portfolio companies in Southern California and Northern California.  Yucaipa Companies, AllMobile Fund, Troy Capital Partners, Toba Capital, Noname Ventures, Correlation Ventures, IronGate Capital Advisors, SC Master Fund, Visionary Ventures, and Miramar Digital Ventures.  His roles have concentrated on sourcing top-tier deal flow, performing detailed due diligence, portfolio construction, contributing value-add portfolio management, building co-investor networks, and driving Limited Partner capital formation.  Since the conception of his personal and professional investment experience, Greg’s investment portfolio consists of multiple angel investments, multiple Special Purpose Vehicles, Noname Ventures Fund I as a GP, and two LP equity positions that are tracking top decile and quartile return profiles.  

He currently serves as a first General Partner of the SC Master Fund, Southern California's first Fund of Funds championed by the CEO Leadership Alliance of Orange County.  Through the SCMF and direct involvement, Greg is a Limited Partner in Miramar Digital Ventures & Visionary Ventures.  He is also a board member with Renata Medical, board observer at Lolly, a formal Venture Partner with IronGate Capital Advisors, and an Advisor with Correlation Ventures.

His investment focus and interests revolve around emerging and advanced technologies applied to the Defense, DeepTech, Aerospace, Aviation, Automotive, Mobility, Life Sciences, BioTech, BioPharma, CPG/DTC, Circular Economy, Environment, and the Built World.

Greg is married to Cristin, has a seven-year-old son Everett, a four-year-old daughter Brooklyn, and an eight-year-old 100-pound Bernese Mountain Dog nicknamed Muffy.
